Don't Stop!
Psalm 69:14; Rescue me from the mire, do not let
me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the
deep waters -NIV
A friend of mine was talking to me about riding ATV’s
he was telling me that a basic principle in ATV riding
in mud is “don’t stop”! He explained
that as long as you had momentum and kept your wheels
moving even slowly, you would eventually make it out
of the mud.
That is so true in all aspects of life. If you are
going through tough times and the mud is starting
to slow you down we tend to stop and focus on the
problem. When we do this we loose our forward momentum
we forget about the direction we were going. Many
times we even look longingly back along the path and
think to ourselves “maybe we should have taken
the easier path” This type of thinking is counter-productive
any experience 4-wheeler will tell you once you stop
and look back you are STUCK. If you stop it gets ten
times harder to remove you. The longer you stay stopped
the worse it gets as now you start to sink. This is
when ropes and pulleys and outside help becomes necessary.
God’s path isn’t always easy it sometimes
takes us through the most difficult things we could
ever imagine. Do not look back though because just
around the corner is the finish line and eternity
with your friends will be a great place to share your
stories with later. If you feel like you are going
through hell right now… don’t stop.
