Understanding…
Isaiah 40:28-31; 1 “Do you not know?
Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not
grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one
can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases
the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and
weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who
hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will
soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow
weary, they will walk and not faint.”
-NIV
The other night I was at a friend’s house and
I thought of this scripture as we talked about hardships
that were taking place in our lives and in the lives
of the people we receive prayer requests for. At first
I only thought about the latter part of the scripture
but when I turned to it in the bible my eyes fell
upon the first part, I read it aloud and was inspired
and encouraged.
It is one thing to say God is in control of our lives,
it is another to gain encouragement from knowing that
He is in control. Isaiah said “He will not grow
tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom”.
When I first read this, it was as if a light bulb
went off in my head. For quite some time I had been
trying to figure out how this mess in my life was
God’s will and trying to gain insight into God’s
thoughts, but I couldn’t fathom His understanding
and I am not supposed to! He is God, He is in control,
He has the plan, He will not grow tired and weary
and because of all of this I can rest in Him. Gain
hope, renew my strength, continue to run and not get
weary, walk and not faint.
When you are in the midst of a storm hold fast and
know God knows what he is doing, that He loves you
and always remember “Father Knows Best”.
