Learn to Count
Psalm 40:4-5:
4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his
trust,
who does not look to the proud, to those who turn
aside to false gods.
5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done.
The things you planned for us no one can recount to
you;
were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too
many to declare. -NIV
The Lord God has done great and wondrous things for
all of us. As I have reflected over the last several
days, weeks, and even the past year. I remember times
God has provided protection while I was driving, food
for my family, made the dollars stretch, and many
other unexplained happenstances? The more we trust
the Lord, the more He blesses us.
The Lord has a plan for each of our lives which He
has known from the beginning of creation. We do not
know all that God has planned. We can trust that when
we are obedient, listen to His voice, and give thanks
for what He has done for us we are fulfilling a part
of His plan.
The Lord wants us to remember the times He has taken
care of us when we are going through hard times. We
all need to be challenged to reflect upon the Lord’s
mercy and grace when in the face of adversity. Know
that if we were to start to count our blessings, “they
would be too many to declare.”
