Idea: Police Officer
Skit
Ages: 3 - 12 years old
With the sound of a racecar in the background
Driver: Wow, this is great. I love speeding
on the highway.
Sound of police siren goes on, and the police officer
puppet appears.
Driver: Oh no!
Police: All right. Pull over mam.
Driver: Is there a problem officer?
Police: You bet there is. You are driving
like a maniac on this highway.
Driver: Sorry officer. But I am sure
it is not a big deal. After all, I did not kill anyone.
Police: I understand you did not kill
anyone. But there is a penalty for speeding.
Driver: There is?
Police: That’s right. Here is a
100 dollar fine.
Driver: 100 dollars! Are you crazy?
Police: No mam. That is the penalty for
speeding.
Driver: But I don’t have 100 dollars.
Police: You should have thought about
that before you decided to go speeding on the highway.
Driver: But really officer, I don’t
have 100 dollars. There is no way I can pay that penalty.
Police: If you don’t pay the penalty,
you will spend time in jail. And you will stay in jail
until you pay the 100 dollars.
Driver: Oh no! That means I am going
to be in jail forever. There is no way I can pay the penalty.
Is there a way I can be forgiven?
Police: Unless somebody pays the 100
dollars, you are going to jail.
Driver: But officer …

Police: No buts! There is a penalty for
speeding. Somebody has to pay it.
Stranger: I will pay it.
Driver: You will! Who are you?
Stranger: Let’s just say I am someone
who cares very much about you. Even though you deserve
to have to pay the 100 dollar penalty, I don’t want
to see you suffer.
Driver: Wow! That is very kind of you.
Stranger: Here you go officer. Here is
100 dollars. Now can this lady go?
Police: Yes she can. Drive safely now.
Police officer leaves.
Driver: Thank you soooo much. You saved
me from having to pay a huge penalty. I will always remember
you.
